LOCATION

Kiyamachi

Kiyamachi Street, once on the eastern edge of Kyoto, runs between the Kamo River and the Takase River canal. In spring, cherry blossoms line the banks; in summer, fireflies light the air. Built in the early Edo period to transport timber, the Takase River helped the area thrive into a lively district of inns, restaurants, and sake shops.

“100% recommended. Even though we were in super rush and booked in a last minute, they were incredibly polite. Customer service was just amazing. We both enjoyed so much and definitely come back here when we go to Kyoto. They speak good English as well.”

“Lovely place and amazing service. I would like to give a testimonial of service excellence by staff Emily  front office staff of the restaurant who offered me umbrella service to walk me back to my hotel nearby when it was drizzling. She was caring with excellent service attitude, very respectful and polite. This is my first taste of Japan, first time in Japan in Kyoto and it really made a good impression..”
